McCarthy's Revenge Tour: A Primary Race to the Far-Right
Vs. Presumptive Nominee Jonathan Nez
In Arizona, disgraced and ineffective short-term speaker Kevin McCarthy set his eyes on two of the Gaetz-8, Andy Biggs (AZ-05) and Eli Crane (AZ-02). The disgraced former speaker successfully wrangled an eleventh-hour primary challenger against only one of his targets, Eli Crane, who also represents one of the most vulnerable districts represented by a House Freedom Caucus member.
Until recently, the primary challenger has been rather silent and was rather difficult to find on social media. However, in recent days McCarthy’s new and shiny puppet has been a bit active on Elon Musk’s desecrated website, X, formerly known as Twitter. Good little Jack Smith, and no it’s not that Jack Smith instead it’s this low-budget MAGA-lite(?) Jack Smith, seems to be positioning himself to the right of the freshman MAGA puppet Eli Crane on immigration and abortion rights.
I Just Want Something To Do To Spite Elijah, Jack, And Kevin
It truly doesn’t matter whether or not McCarthy is successful in this particular stop of his revenge tour, because it is clear that regardless of whether Jack “MAGA-lite” Smith or Elijah “I-hate-the-gubberment” Crane were to win in November, it would be a win for the MAGA caucus.
The true win is with the money that will likely come from McCarthy’s desire for revenge resulting in Eli Crane having to spend more of his money than his grifting consultants would like or had planned for. The two will try to out-racist, out-climate deny, and out-spend one another to make it through the late July primary election. All for the pro-uranium mining, pro-Dobbs, and pro-insurrection Trump puppet Eli Crane to make it to the general.
No matter the case that McCarthy’s efforts may be all for not for his personal goals, one thing that should be certain is that Crane will be even more vulnerable in a potentially competitive district that Cook Political Report has ranked as R+6. Eli Crane will be staring down a general election opponent in November in the now presumptive Democratic nominee for AZ-02, Jonathan Nez, the former President of the Navajo Nation.

The presumptive Democratic nominee was the only Democrat to submit signatures for the ballot by the April 1st deadline. This is a significant advantage in the former President’s bid to make history as the first Native American to represent Arizona in Congress, and more importantly the 14 of Arizona’s 22 federally recognized tribes in AZ-02. Without having to spend on a costly primary, this gives us all a unique chance, and that is to help spread the word and donate to the campaign.
Some of us may not be able to vote in the election, are not able to volunteer and help persuade voters to make a better choice, but we can all chip in what we can to help fund this historic endeavor. We can make a difference by funding a historic moment, defeating an extremist who likely doesn’t plan to certify the election results if President Biden is re-elected, and electing a good man in Jonathan Nez who will work to better the lives of all of his constituents even when it isn’t the politically advantageous thing to do.
