Received this e-mail today from Rep. Patrick Murphy’s (D. FL) U.S. Senate campaign:

Rep. Patrick Murphy (D. FL)

Big news: a federal judge just BLOCKED Rick Scott’s extremist anti-abortion law here in Florida! It would have increased inspection requirements and prevented state funds from going to clinics like Planned Parenthood -- and it would have been devastating to women’s health.
Patrick has always stood up for women’s health. This is a critical victory, but we know this fight isn’t over. Will you add your name to stand against Rick Scott and his anti-woman efforts?

Back when this law passed, we knew it was a likely illegal attempt to close clinics and limit healthcare options, masquerading as a way to “protect women’s health.” And now a judge has just confirmed it: this law is illegal, it would have hurt women, and it won’t stand! Rick Scott has been stopped -- for now.

But unfortunately, this won’t be the end. Limiting access to women’s healthcare is a key part of the GOP party platform. Marco Rubio doesn’t believe a woman should have the right to choose, even in cases of rape, incest, or if the mother is infected with Zika! His disregard for a woman’s ability to make her own healthcare decisions, no matter what, is truly shocking.

And this issue is so important. Over 67,000 Florida women rely on Planned Parenthood every year. I know Patrick will always stand up for women’s healthcare access, while Rick Scott and Marco Rubio continue to do the opposite.

Add your name to stand with Patrick -- and against Rick Scott and Marco Rubio -- for women’s health!

Thank you,

Laura Carlson
