That is what Pennsylvania State Senator John Eichelberger told a female reporter after she questioned his plan to defund Planned Parenthood. The incident occurred after the Pennsylvania Senate Finance Committee voted Senator Eichelberger’s Senate Bill 300 out of committee. The would re-prioritize the funding that goes to Planned Parenthood centers throughout the Commonwealth by classifying them as a “category 4” service provider, effectively eliminating the funding that would go to these centers.
In the middle of the hearing, Eichelberger admitted that he does not know the services Planned Parenthood provides, especially when it comes to sexual education and other services. Then after the hearing, Eichelberger took questions from journalists, and when he was getting ready to leave, a female journalist asked a question about the “hierarchy of funding.” His response was:
