Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin’s (D. WI) re-election campaign:
One of the most significant achievements of the Affordable Care Act is its requirement that employers’ health care plans cover contraception.
But according to the New York Times, President Trump plans to roll back that guaranteed coverage and give employers the ability to opt out. In effect, he could give employers power over their female employees' health care decisions.
Prior to the Affordable Care Act mandate, more women were paying out of pocket for preventative care, losing hard-earned money their male colleagues didn’t have to worry about.
By allowing employers to deny women contraception coverage, President Trump could deny women affordable health care and the chance to work hard and get ahead.
Your boss isn’t your doctor, and they shouldn’t get to decide what level of care any woman receives.
Stand with me to protect health care and all women’s right to make their own decisions.
Thank you,
Tammy
