This was the week that Greta Thunberg was in the news all over, so I wanted to know other women who have been fighting for solutions to climate change. As Besame noted, there are many reasons for women to lead this fight. That’s an excellent WOW from 2016 and still relevant today.

So you may also have heard of Xóchitl Guadalupe Cruz López, who has won several science awards. Now 8 years old, she recently was awarded the Nuclear Sciences Prize as a "scientist-woman" for her invention of a solar water heater made with recycled and recyclable materials.
