2016: The GOP elite are in hock to their extremists they can't control nor sideline

For years now the elite Oligarch’s of the republican party pander non-stop to their evangelical forced-birther base. And every year the GOP elite have been able to keep their fringe of fundamentalists from the forefront and away from the real levers of power knowing they can’t win the general election with a platform of hate, intolerance and for the past few years, an increasing record of violence, defining the party

This time seems different. That the recent deadly shootings by one of these republican “religious” domestic terrorists took place in Colorado, is no coincidence. It’s where theocratic leader James Dobson’s hate cult called the Family Research Council, holding dominion over the evangelical republican base, has an especially violent branch.

2016 may be the year that the fundamentalist republican base will control the party like never before.

It is way too early to predict who will win the Republican presidential nomination. But the struggle between the Republican donor class and voting base will likely continue, as the needs and wants of each do not seamlessly mesh.

The base has ultimately acceded to the establishment on numerous occasions, only to come away feeling disappointed at best, and betrayed at worst.

In 2016, it just may be that the base’s time has come.

   — emphasis added

The GOP with lobbyist/donors like the NRA has poisoned itself, and is poisoning America.

We are awash in guns because of the GOP.Three weeks before Friday’s Planned Parenthood shooting, a man was seen brandishing a rifle while walking down the streets of Colorado Springs on Halloween morning. A concerned citizen called the 911 Emergency Line to notify the police, but was told by the operator: “Well, it is an open carry state, so he can have a weapon with him or walking around with it,” referencing state laws that allow the brandishing of a firearm in public.

Shortly after the call the man shot and killed three people before being shot dead by police.

With demographics trending against the republicans, taken with an attitude of “evangelical religious purity” as the guiding “principle”...

James Dobson, responding to a question by Fox News personality Alan Colmes on whether he wanted the Republican Party to be known as a "big-tent party," he replied,

"I don't want to be in the big tent... I think the party ought to stand for something."

In 2006, Family Research Council spent more than a half million dollars to promote a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage in its home state of Colorado.

...It looks to me like we can expect more violence from the party that is now controlled by the fanatical domestic terrorists that make up its base. The GOP that has for years raised money by fomenting hatred and bigotry with dire warnings and unconstitutional laws against the nonexistent danger of “Sharia Law” taking over America, have now proven they are indeed — “exceptional”.

...and the real threat, and not just here at home, but abroad

Now if we could just get our “liberal media” to report this truth...instead of questioning whether we Dems should be using the words “radical lslam” or not, and... how about a report or three from the msm on the silence from republican “leadership” concerning the violence and killing going on?

..like this report...

Republican Candidates Are Too Busy This Morning to Denounce Attack on Planned Parenthood Clinic

by Kevin Drum @ Mother Jones | November 28, 2015

...But it's a holiday weekend, so maybe they've [republican presidential candidates] turned off the news to spend more time with their families. All 14 of them.

Still, I know they're all resolutely opposed to terrorism and adamantly in favor of law and order, so I'm sure they'll issue uncompromising condemnations sometime soon. After all, we can't allow depraved attacks against health clinics on American soil to be met with silence that could easily be interpreted as backing down in the face of hate. Right?

1Oops. I was fooled by the fact that Cruz has his demand for President Obama to insult him to his face permanently at the top of his feed. But Cruz did indeed tweet something this morning. Here's the full version of his statement on Facebook: "My and Heidi's prayers are with the loved ones of those killed in Colorado Springs, with those injured, and with the first responders who bravely got the situation under control." Not exactly a stirring condemnation of violence, but I guess it's a start.

...with decent reporting calling out the republican field on this, maybe we raise awareness enough and put an end to some of this pseudo-religiously motivated killing here in America as a start towards peace. A tiny start perhaps, but it’s not nothing.

   — so, this is my contribution to getting the word out.

My reasoning is simple: These assholes want more than to satiate a bullies desire to intimidate others they hate, and have made it plain they have no so-called “pro-life” concern. Republicans have been threatening violence, (including killing — imo), if they lose another election, especially after losing to an AA’s — twice. But to lose again, to either a woman or a democratic socialist... I believe them now

  — time to turn in — thanks for stopping by :)
