Charlie told me that her pregnancy came shortly after her sister died - Planned Parenthood helped her sister fight cervical cancer.
Charlie said:
"I was an alcoholic disaster ... there was no way I could have stayed sober during that pregnancy. I do not know where I would be without Planned Parenthood. I was in a relationship that was abusive in every way possible. Had I not been able to have that abortion, I may have been stuck in that situation even longer ... and maybe would not have made it out alive."
Women don't need an extreme situation to choose abortion. Their bodies - their choice. But it is critical that women in similar situations always have the option of safe, legal and accessible abortion services.

I pass forced birther protesters every weekday as I go to my psychiatric treatment and they inspired me to raise money for Planned Parenthood. This specific fundraiser benefits the Planned Parenthood Action Fund of Texas which fights to keep abortion safe, legal and accessible in Texas — where I live.
