The protester below is the perfect bookend to this fundraiser. I walked up to her, taking camera lens cap off, extending lens and she exclaims:
NO! You can't photograph me!
Me: You are protesting on public land. Texas law says that I may photograph you.
Her: I don't consent to this!
Me (taking photos)
Her: DON'T I GET A CHOICE ABOUT THIS?
Me (after a few seconds of thought): You feel violated by my taking your photo without respecting your wishes?
Her: YES!!!
Me (turns and points to line of women waiting to enter clinic): Now you know how they feel. Have a great day.

Note: I worried about the appropriateness of continuing this during the reaction to the murder of George Floyd. However, a women’s health clinic director in Dallas, a woman of color, spoke with me about how this issue disproportionately impacts women of color. How white women, demographically, have the wealth to travel and access abortion services. Hence, my continuing this.
