First they came...

Sadly, I realized this morning that Martin Niemöller’s legendary prose is in need of an update.

First they came for voting rights, and I didn’t speak up because I’m not a minority.

Then they came for abortion rights, and I didn’t speak up because I’m not a woman.

Then they came for LGBTQ+ rights and I didn’t speak up because I’m not any of those.

Then they came for birth control…

And the types of sex consenting adults could have…

And interracial marriage…

And when I finally tried to speak up I found that they’d come after that as well.
