The Right-Wing repeatedly claims the mantle of "Pro-Life" except for anytime someone who has been actually born is at risk.
They say there is no "Right to Privacy" in the Constitution when also there is no "Right to Life" specifically enumerated either. They claim this is a religious argument when the Bible doesn't mention abortion except to *endorse* it in cases of adultery. If we can abort a fetus because of adultery, I think we can do it due to rape, incest and the risk and potential trauma of childbirth.
They say that "Life begins at conception" but the Jewish tradition is that life begins at the "first breath" and Jesus as well as Levitcus says that "Life is in the blood." A zygote doesn't have any blood or a circulatory system for weeks. And that's a lot more than 5 weeks. Where does this pseudo-scientific-fiction definition of "Life" even come from? Monty Python? ("Every sperm is sacred") Banning contraception on the basis that there might be a fertilized egg that doesn't reach the uterine wall would ban the IUD, Plan B and also — if you do happen to be Roman Catholic —the Rythm Method.

There’s also the fact rich women will continue to get abortions while poor women will restort to back-alley and non-safe methods. Banning abortion doesn't save the lives of babies, it potentially ends the lives of girls and women.
I might even believe these people truly cared about reducing unplanned and unwanted pregnancies except that instead of comprehensive and accurate sex-education they also support abstinence only sex-ed which teaches kids that “condoms don’t work”, consequently the teenage pregnancy rates are higher where this practice is installed. If you really wanted to reduce the number of abortions you might try not increasing the number of teenage pregnancies.

Did you know just about every state that has endorsed a Pro-Life position also happens to be one of the states with the highest infant mortality and maternal mortality rates? [Even if you do include the black people.] So they are perfectly Pro-Life when babies aren't born yet, but as soon as they're down the shoot their lives and the lives of their mothers clearly don't matter anymore.
They're "Pro-Life" except for the actual Living part.

They believe every fertilized egg is sacred, but not every child. They don't support universal prenatal care. They don't support universal pre-K, universal child care, or maternity and paternity leave. They don't support making sure every child is fed with child nutrition programs and had no ideas or solutions for dealing with contaminated baby formula. Then they voted *against* the bill trying to solve that problem. They also vehemently oppose government safety regulations that are the only way to prevent our food, water and air from being contaminated and poisoned by greedy corporations.
They don't believe every child deserves a quality education as they've been siphoning money from open public schools for charter, private & religious schools for decades leaving them broken and dysfunctional for the unlucky many who fail to score a precious voucher for private or charter schools which generally don't produce better results.
They don't support making sure every child has healthcare or making sure every child has mental care - they've voted to investigate the parents of trans kids for providing either, and to block them from Medicaid. It would be one thing if every pregnant girl knew that no matter her income or life situation her child’s physical, emotional, educational and medical needs were guaranteed to be taken care of, but then again we don’t live in that world now do we? What are the odds that without proper emotional support the sperm/cell they save today won't turn into another Ethan Crumbley, Adam Lanza or Salvador Ramos who ends dozens of lives tomorrow?

Thousands of veterans, thousands of Black kids and 45% of LGBTQ kids contemplate and attempt suicide every year - but they don't support trying to stop any of that now do they?
And they don't care about keeping our kids safe from vicious gun-fueled mass murder, complaining that we need to be surrounded by even *more* guns, and of course, more locked doors. If they think having more guns around makes "everyone safer", why aren't guns allowed inside the NRA rally? Apparently they don't believe that would make things safer, do they? Why is it that the states with the highest rates of gun ownership also have the highest rates of gun murder?
Just whose life are they "Pro?"
