This survey of 1,316 registered voters was conducted online from June 4-7 and reveals that 83% of Americans consider gun violence to be a national problem (67% a big problem, 16% a small problem). A remarkable, bipartisan 86% of Americans support universal background checks for anyone who wants to buy a gun (72% strongly, 14% somewhat). Further, 52% of Americans support a national assault weapons ban (45% strongly, 7% somewhat).
